A 8 days tour in the Gobi desert with Golden Gobi
In august 2010, we (11 young French people) made a 8 days tour with Golden Gobi in the Gobi desert.
Two guides drove us through fantastic landscapes like the Khongorin els sand dunes, Flaming Cliffs, the Gobi steppes …
We had great contacts with people living in the desert, slept in Mongolian yurts, shared excellent diners with nomadic families.
Camel riding and horse riding were also part of the program and we had the chance to attend to a typical local horse-race.
Our guides had a good knowledge of the desert and keen to adapt the tour program to our desires.

Hello,
I stayed for three days until yesterday, and I had a lovely tour of the area near Ulaanbaatar and a stay with a friendly Kazakh family last night. I'm back in Beijing now. I was absolutely happy with my tour with Beck and you will get your sleeping bag back soon if you haven't already!
I have a parting request: can you tell me what this means? I saw it on a sign outside the city.

Golden Gobi was amazing!! Other backpakkers recommended me GG. It is the best cental place to be in Ulanbaatar where you meet other people and have a fun stay! I staid at other hostels in UB before, but the Golden Gobi has been my best home far away from home,... by far! People are so friendly, speak English, safe, good rooms, hot showers, Chill rooms, always tea or coffee in the living room, free internet and they are so helpfull with your journeys (experts in country journeys) or for other stuff you need help with.... A warm friendly place. Reminds me of the old T.V. show "Cheers", a place where everyone knows your name. Its a place where positive energy is welcome and negativity is pushed out the door. During the day staff are busy guiding their guest, helping them find the perfect way to experience Mongolia. And during the night you will enjoy the laughter and excitement of a day well spent. The tours have the same flow of positive energy. The guides and drivers are among the nicest and friendliest people I met during my time in Mongolia. The food on their tours is delicious and surpasses most of the restaurants found in UB. Tours are the best of the best in my opinion After bouncing around many different guesthouses and tour companies during my stay, there are none that can compare to the quality and service of the Golden Gobi. |

We stayed in the Golden Gobi the whole one month of our stay in Mongolia last february as we were so well with that family. The Golden Gobi is more than a guesthouse, you feel just like home. Usually when we travel we don't really like the hostel more than a place to stay few days but there, the staff, the family is close to you, they help you for everything you ask, they organise great tours, they provide all the confort you need in rooms. It doesnt matter wheter you are a single backpacker or a family, you will be just great in the golden gobi.
I highly recommand you to stay ther when you go in Mongolia, especially in winter time when they are less busy and can spend time with you. Thank you Mama, Bob, Erika and everyone!Thanks to all of you we spent a fabulous journey in Mongolia!
